Shrimp are sold by the count or number of shrimp per pound. For example, 41/50 count means that 41 to 50 shrimp come in every pound. The smaller the count, the larger the size of shrimp: for example, 41/50´s are larger than 51/60´s. Sizes are sometimes expressed as names of numbers(e.g., large) but look beyond description to the count for the best seize indicator. Ranges are created to allow for some variances within catches. However, the total number of shrimp you receiv e always fall withinthe stated counts.
